SUBJECT - Snow Days Make-Up

I. Purpose

 

To provide guidelines for making up classes due to snow days.

 

II. Procedure

 

A. In the event that the number of snow days in any given academic semester exceeds two, the faculty, represented by the Faculty Senate, and the administration, represented by the Instructional Advisory Council and the President's Staff, will meet to arrange for alternatives to compensate students for the missing class periods in excess of the two snow days.

B. Regardless of the specific form of the alternatives agreed upon, the following conditions will be met:

1. Students will be provided alternative instruction to assure them the full content of their courses.

2. Faculty and staff will not be compensated additionally for their efforts in delivering the agreed to alternative instruction as described in #1 above.

3. Strategies for alternative instruction in #1 above will be agreed to as early as possible in the semester.

4. Strategies for alternative instruction in #1 above will be implemented no later than the last day of classes of the appropriate semester in which they are to take effect.
